I have always loved New Zealand scenery, so when I was asked to paint a Canterbury landscape, I couldn't resist. I chose to paint this one because of the nor' west sky , the snow capped mountains and the crystal deep blue water - all typical of inland Canterbury. The best thing about this painting was just being there, being able to study the light and how it change until sunset. The scenery all around was wonderful and it was hard to choose which aspects to paint. |
