Corporate & Group Stone Carving Workshops
Most team-building activities leave people looking at their phones for an hour. Stone carving doesn't. From the moment someone picks up a chisel and mallet, they're focused — genuinely absorbed — and they stay that way for the next two hours.
I've run corporate workshops for small close-knit teams and large groups alike. What happens every time is the same: people who'd never describe themselves as creative discover they can make something real. By the end, everyone has a finished sculpture carved from natural New Zealand stone — and something to talk about on the way home that isn't the weather.
What Happens on the Day
I handle everything. I arrive with all the equipment — height-adjustable workbenches, a clamping system that holds the stone safely in place, all tools, safety gear, and Oamaru stone for each person. You just need a space to set up, indoors or outdoors.
Each participant works on their own piece from start to finish. The session opens with a brief safety and technique introduction, then everyone gets into it. I move around the group, helping people develop their design and work through the stone. Within two hours, everyone learns the basics and leaves with something they carved themselves.
No art background required. No experience needed. Just show up ready to make something.

$350 for up to 8 people
$40 per person for groups larger than 8
All equipment, stone, tools and safety gear included. I set up and pack down — you provide the space.
Practical Details
Workshops run for approximately two hours. I can set up almost anywhere — an outdoor area, a function room, a carpark, a garden. All I need is a flat surface and enough room for the benches. I handle all setup and packdown, so there's nothing for you to organise on the day.
Each person leaves with a finished piece of Oamaru stone — a genuine, durable sculpture they carved themselves. It's not a paint-and-sip takeaway. It's real stone that will last.
