This sculpture is my latest commissioned piece of the Scottish thistle, It's a tricky design to make it work in Oamaru stone, but I am pleased with the final result.

A landmark sculpture marking 150 years of Swannanoa School — carved by students from every year group, incorporating all four hapū, five school values, and the farming heritage of North Canterbury.

I had a good day yesterday. I worked with some young children from Ilam Oscar and taught them how to use watercolour pencils with genuine watercolour paper. Hopefully, I planted a seed for the next generation of budding artists. For more information click here
