A hollow Oamaru stone elephant lit from within by solar candles — the piece that earned a full feature in The Shed magazine. Here's the story behind it.

Abstract sculpture gives you the freedom to create something no one has seen before. Here's how I go from wild sketches on A3 paper to a finished piece of Oamaru stone — and why the design on paper is always just the starting point.

I was invited to work with West Eyreton School to design and create a sculpture that represents their five E's, which are ( Excellence, Effort, Example, Empathy, Enterprise). The idea was to combine five koru into one large sculpture, and each koru holds the values of the school. So this is the design that was chosen
